Background

Emma Cornelius (she/her) joined the Learning Centre in October 2023. She has a Master’s in Library and Information Studies from UBC’s School of Information. Prior to this role, Emma was a student librarian at Xwi7xwa Library and at West Vancouver Memorial Library.

Current Role and Responsibilities

In her current role, Emma manages the planning, implementation and assessment of learning support programs and services at the Chapman Learning Commons. This includes overseeing the equipment lending program and student-staff at the Chapman Learning Commons desk. Emma also co-leads UBC collaborative information literacy projects including the Digital Tattoo project and the UBC Basic Library Skills Tutorial. Emma is interested in teaching and learning, digital media, and community engagement.
