Literature Etc. – Colourism

UBC Literature Etc. is a non-profit student organization focusing on music, photography, film, literature, and fine arts. The unique publication of its annual Chinese magazine, le Mook, showcases our passion in arts through illustrative and literary works. Members have the opportunity to experience Vancouver and its culture through a contemporary perspective.  In addition to the Learning Centre, some past events of UBC Literature Etc. include collaboration with the Vancouver International Film Festival, portrait photography in a studio environment with our own set creation, music and dance workshops, including an introduction to jazz/stomp/latino themes, and outdoor adventures at Bowen Island and Whytecliff Park.   The organization’s focus is to develop a stronger appreciation of the arts and bring this artistic flavour into everyday life.

Marking the third annual photography showcase, this exhibition celebrates the different colours that dye the world: vibrant or mellow, luminous or opaque, black and white or of the rainbow, they all highlight the essential beauties that surround us. By exploring the diversity of shades and hues, the photographers attempt to express the vitality of colours that saturate our life.  A non-profit student organization focusing on music, photography, film, literature, and fine arts, Literature Etc. is an initiative that showcases passion in arts through illustrative and literary works.  Colourism offers audiences the opportunity to experience Vancouver and its culture through a contemporary perspective.
