Positive Space Workshop

The Equity and Inclusion office invites you to take part in the Positive Space Campaign – an initiative intended to help make UBC more receptive to and welcoming of its lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans* (transgender, transsexual, trans-identified), two-spirit, queer, questioning, intersex and asexual (LGBT*TQIA+) communities, individuals and issues of sexual and gender diversity on campus. It aims to foster a welcoming atmosphere and inclusive, respectful dialogue on campus for people of all sexual orientations and gender identities by identifying spaces where sexual and gender diversity is supported and valued. All UBC students, staff and faculty are welcome to sign up for a Positive Space workshop. Workshops are 3.5 hours in length and are informative, interactive and a lot of fun. They attract a diverse mix of people from across the campus, including those with a lot of experience and those to whom these issues are relatively new. There’s something for everyone.
If you haven’t taken our training in a few years, consider taking a refresher workshop. It’s a great opportunity to meet the new co-facilitators and learn some new terms.

Please see Get Involved for more information on what it means to be a resource person. Workshop pre-registration is required and workshops will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis.
