The City of Vancouver Archives has completed its digitization of 5122 photographic negatives from the Don Coltman series of the Steffens-Colmer fonds. The images date from 1941-1953 and provide a unique record of Vancouver and the Lower Mainland in the post World War II period. The photographs document aspects of Vancouver life such as community activities, events and sports activities; representation of physical aspects of Vancouver (such as parks, bridges, beaches, schools, and shipyards) and portraiture including weddings and local dignitaries.
The digitization of the Steffens-Colmer Studies and Don Coltman Company Photographs Digitization Project (Phase Two) was digitized with support from the Irving K. Barber Learning Centre through its BC History Digitization Program.
