Allan Cho
Community Engagement Librarian (Program Services)

Allan’s work includes supporting ongoing community initiatives and leading new ones, focusing on community engagement with historically underrepresented groups. He manages the Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) Scholars-in-Residence program and is the subject liaison librarian to the School of Information. He has Master’s degrees in Library and Information Studies, History, and Education from UBC. His previous professional experience include Research Commons Librarian and Digital Humanities liaison librarian. Allan’s research interests are in Asian Canadian history, literature, and culture and outside of work volunteers his time for several community organizations with anti-racism and solidarity-building.


Celia Hagey
Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) Initiatives Student Librarian

Celia Hagey (she/her) is an MLIS student at the University of British Columbia. As EDI Initiatives Student Librarian, Celia supports the development of the Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) Scholars-in-Residence program, along with assisting in other community engagement programming at the IKBLC. Summer 2024 is her third term of study. She is interested in academic library work that supports information literacy, curiosity, and empowerment for post-secondary students, as well as work centering library accessibility and advocacy for neurodivergent patrons. Before coming to UBC, she completed a BA in English Writing while working as a student writing consultant and library circulation assistant. When she’s not at the library, Celia enjoys writing, running, trying new recipes, and watching video essays on niche topics.
