2014/2015 Chemistry Undergraduate Research Conference

Annually, the Undergraduate Chemistry Society hosts a research conference in which senior undergraduates who are currently or have participated in laboratory research can showcase their hard work. This year, with the support of the Department of Chemistry and TA Instrumentals Inc., we have successfully recruited a total of eight students speakers that will present their work ranging from different topics, such as small scale synthesis of bio-actively important molecules, computational studies of nanomaterials, novel material for solar cell applications, and heavy transition metal complexes that can be serve as potential treatment for osteoporosis. Furthermore, these student speakers will receive appropriate feedback on how to improve their presentation skills as well as research tips and advice from a judge panel consisting of instructors and graduate students. More importantly, the general student population can have an insight into how chemistry affects and transforms our daily lives, as well as how research is performed in the chemical sciences.
