The workshop will introduce best practices in assignment and assessment design, with a focus on using writing as a learning tool in science courses. The workshop is intended to help participants further understand context, active thinking and learning, and assessment (e.g. rubrics) in designing more effective writing assignments and is suitable for all levels of experience.
The Writing Across the Curriculum (WAC) Program aims to support teaching and learning of scientific writing with a focus on writing to learn and teach discipline-specific writing. The WAC Program is a collaboration between the Faculty of Science and the Writing Centre.
