Community Based Experiential Learning Showcase

Have you ever considered teaching a Community Based Experiential Learning (CBEL) course, but wondered what’s involved and whether or not it’s worthwhile?

All faculty colleagues are invited to the Arts Showcase on Community Based Experiential Learning (CBEL), hosted by the Faculty of Arts and Centre for Community Engaged Learning.  CBEL is an overarching term that encompasses a number of community-based pedagogical practices and a guiding principle that allows faculty to enact opportunities to apply academic knowledge to real-world issues. This event provides an opportunity to hear Arts faculty discuss their successes on a broad variety of approaches to community-based experiential learning.  Join colleagues to learn and share.

Speakers include:
Dr. Sunaina Assanand (Psychology), Natalie Clark (Social Work), Dr. Catharine Douglas (Economics), Dr. Samuel Navarro Ortega (French, Hispanic, and Italian Studies), and Dr. Katharine Patterson (Arts Studies in Research and Writing)

*Lunch provided at 12:00 noon and we have door prizes!
