Extraordinary Presences: Women, Poetry, Art Song is taking place on Thursday, 16 October, 2014, alongside a workshop/performance of The Muted Note, a song-cycle of settings of poems by the Canadian poet P. K. Page, composed and performed by Scott Thomson and Susanna Hood. In addition to discussion of The Muted Note, we will be hosting a set of panels and presentations by Canadian composers, poets and scholars on contemporary art song, poetry and performance by women. There will also be workshop performances, between the panels, of new art song.
