Witchcraft-free Rituals for Choosing Better Passwords

The HCI@UBC Seminar series, brought to you by iSchool@UBC, hosts scholars and students working across disciplines on problems related to Human-Computer Interaction. This month’s lecture is by Stuart Schechter, who will review the threat posed by password-guessing and debunk a number of misconceptions about this threat.  Schechter will introduce three different witchcraft-free rituals for protecting users from the scourge of guessable passwords and his talk will touch on topics in algorithms, information theory, and human behavior. For more details about this series, please see the event page.
