The Work Learn program fosters student learning and career development through meaningful on-campus work experiences. Through their Work Learn jobs, students will not just be earning money, but will develop personal and professional skills, develop self-awareness through reflection, have the opportunity to apply their knowledge in a practical setting, gain mentorship, expand their network, and contribute to the UBC community.
We will be offering a workshop for international students on campus who are looking for on campus work and how are finding it difficult to gain meaningful, paid, skills-building employment experience on campus. The workshop will cover what a Canadian employer looks for in a resume and will provide students with practical tips on how to develop their resume and cover letter, get tips on submitting their Work Learn application and will learn how to prepare for an interview and gain a better understanding of Canadian workplace culture.
