Kristen Wong

Program Services Assistant


Kristen Wong is the Program Services Assistant at the Irving K. Barber Learning Centre (IKBLC). An alumna of UBC, she received her Bachelor of Arts in History with a minor in Myth and Literature of Greece, Rome, and the Near East. In addition to having been a student at UBC, Kristen has also worked at the Chan Centre for the Performing Arts in Administration and at the Faculty of Graduate Studies with PhD Candidates. An active member of the community, Kristen has volunteered as a literacy tutor for school-aged children, a copy editor for Ricepaper Magazine, and as treasurer for the Vancouver Historical Society.


Current role and responsibilities

Kristen joined IKBLC in 2012 and has had the privilege of coordinating author readings for the Robson Reading Series. Working closely with Community Engagement Librarians, Kristen’s role has since expanded to monitoring and contributing to the IKBLC and the Small Business Accelerator’s social media pages as well as the websites, content curation and editing, peer-review posts, and webcast maintenance. Kristen also works with artists in displaying art works on Level 2 of the centre and oversees booking requests for the Chilcotin Boardroom and the Golden Jubilee Room.
